,,Hágóbérce" Nature Trail - 7. station - PIRICSKE

The name of this spectacular mountain (in Hungarian Piricske) peak means barren top and it occurs in several places in this area. This place represents the limit between mountain meadows and pastures. On its southern slope we can see two groups of old beech trees. These centuries-old trees provided valuable timber for sheep-pens and firewood to the shepherds. Their trunks are rugged and their crown branched because of the continuous cropping and bad weather.
